Membership Committee: Denise Glover, Chair
This committee works under the direction of the UCSD Vice-President and is responsible for increasing/retaining membership, planning monthly programs, and working to build diversity within the organization. The frequency of meetings is determined by the committee, but is generally once a month.
Publicity Committee
The UCSD Publicity Committee plays a key role in promoting the organization and its initiatives within the community. It is made up of three working groups: (1) Website Development designs, builds, and maintains the UCSD website; (2) Creative Resources designs promotional materials to effectively advertise UCSD's events and activities; and (3) Editorials/Public Relations creates engaging press releases, articles, and editorials that highlight UCSD's programs and mission.
Constitution and Bylaws: Althea Richardson, Chair
This committee proposes amendments and/or changes to the Constitution and Bylaws. The committee is required to adhere to policy and is responsible for gaining membership approval as described under Article XI - Amendments. Meetings are on an as-needed basis.
Fundraising Committee: Mary Powers and John Kibler, Co-Chairs
This committee is responsible for the preparation of proposals for fundraising activities and the execution of fundraising plans and events. The frequency of meetings is determined by the committee. In 2023, the committee developed the BlueStar Donors program, a mechanism that enables people to donate every month to support the seniors' efforts to turn North Carolina BLUE!

Volunteers are needed to work in the office on Mondays and/or Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Duties include answering the phone, checking email, assembling party packets, and distributing literature to visitors to the office.
